Former Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) head Dr. Courtney Phillips has assumed her position as Executive Commissioner of Texas’ Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) as of October 19. Before serving as CEO for DHHS, Dr. Phillips served as the Deputy Secretary for the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. Governor Greg Abbott appointed Phillips to the role in August.
