The Railroad Commission is accepting online comments until noon, Nov. 6, on a draft rule amendment to reduce surface mining permit fees that will result in lower industry regulatory costs. RRC's Surface Mining and Reclamation Division (SMRD) staff is proposing to lower annual fees required to cover the Commission's cost of permitting and inspecting surface coal mines for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 biennium.
